Application Forms Q&A
When can I first submit my application?
The application publishing dates should appear on the website around August- September and applications should open by early October. The first time you can submit your application is after you have received some form of report card/ grade transcript (For example from a parents day at school).
I’ve moved to a new school and my teachers haven’t known me for two years. Who can I ask recommendations from?
You may ask for a recommendation from teachers from your previous schools. Also, it's recommended to ask for recommendations from non-academic figures in your life such as youth counsellors/ instructors, activity trainers, etc.
I haven't gotten a report card yet, what should I do?
We are aware that many applicants don't get their 10th grade transcript by the time the applications are due. In this case, please include your most recent school transcript. Once you get your report card, please send it over as soon as you can by email to incuwc@gmail.com
My School Doesn't have any grades, What should I do?
In this case, please submit your qualitative report card.
What do I need to do if I forgot to send out a file?
In this case, you can email incuwc@gmail.com and we can re-open your application. Note that we cannot open your application after the final application date, and we cannot re-open it more than once.
How do I know if my application has been submitted?
You should get an automated email stating that your application has been successfully submitted. If you don't get an email within a few hours, please email the national committee to ensure the application has arrived. It's recommended to save your file while you're working on it to ensure you have a back up in the case the file isn't saved.
My parents are divorced, do I need to them both to sign?
Yes, you are required to get both of your parents to sign in order to apply to UWC. In special cases, please email the National Committee
One of my parents is deceased, do I need to mention this somewhere?
Yes, please have your legal guardian/ other parent mention this in their approval form.
Is there any meaning to submitting my form earlier rather than later? Can I ask to postpone the final deadline?
There is no difference in the way the committee treats applications submitted at different times, so long as the application is sent prior to the final deadline. The only difference is in the application submission fee.
Note that the final deadline cannot be postponed and it will be impossible to submit a file after the deadline has passed.
When do I get back answers for my application?
The national committee understands how stressful it can be to wait for the application results and, for the first application stage, does its best to submit answers to all candidates within 2-3 weeks.
