How do I apply?

The first step is to fill out the forms - using the link on the 'Apply', page you can access the electronic forms (the forms cannot be sent by email). Carefully read the instructions on the first page of the forms, fill in all the sections of the form, attach all the documents requested, and keep a draft copy of the form.

What are the screening stages?

An extensive team of the selection committee, consisting of college alumni, review the forms and select the candidates who will proceed on to the second screening stage.

The second stage includes a two-day screening camp, where the social, analytical and other abilities of the candidates are examined. The candidates in the camp are divided into groups, each group having a group leader and 2 additional observers from the Israeli alumni team. Between 60 to 80 candidates are invited to the camp. Of these, approximately 20 candidates move on to the third screening stage.

In the third and final stage, a long interview takes place in front of an extensive team of the selection committee. After the interview, suitable candidates are accepted to the colleges, and the scholarships are distributed according to the socio-economic conditions of the candidate and of their family.

I'm religious. Can I be accepted?

Yes. There are colleges in which leading a religious lifestyle is possible. However, bear in mind that the majority of the college population does not maintain a religious lifestyle. 

Is it possible to apply in the 11th grade? Or in 12th grade?

It is not possible to apply either in the 11th or 12th grades – only candidates currently in the 10th grade will be considered. This is in light of the study requirements and the age requirements of the colleges. For reasons of arrangements with the IDF, it is not possible to apply in the 11th grade. In very exceptional cases, such as a jumping a class, you can contact the committee by e-mail. Populations who don't need to serve in the IDF can contact the National committee in order to be approved to apply in these grades as well.  

My parents/Guardians don't allow me to register. What to do?

First of all, we don't accept a candidate’s candidacy without both their parents approval. It is important to allow parents to read material about the colleges on the various websites. In addition, parents can contact us with questions by e-mail. If they still object, you can contact us by e-mail and ask for a contact number where they can talk to one of the organisations' alumni and get more information directly. 

I have low grades on my record, Does that mean I'm ineligible to apply?

Low grades do not rule out candidacy. However, since the level of the IB (the diploma studied in the college) in college is high, it is important that the average of your grades are good (does not have to be outstanding). Each year a minimum grade threshold is published for application (for example, in the past years the grade threshold was above 85 in the 9th grade diploma and above 85 in the first semester of 10th grade). In exceptional cases, you can contact the committee by e-mail explaining your request and why you believe you can handle the demanding requirements of the IB.

I missed the registration deadline, is there anything to do?

Unfortunately, if the registration date is missed we will not be able to assist. We do not allow registration after the deadline. In addition, we are not able to allow applications in the 11th grade for pupils who are required to enlist in the IDF.

I did not pass the screening stage, can I appeal?

Every year, the National Committee receives hundreds of application forms from talented, active and interesting candidates. Unfortunately, our selection process is limited in time and manpower, and the number of scholarships we distribute is even more limited. Therefore, there is a selection procedure that helps us in selecting the most suitable candidates to study in a UWC college, from amongst all the candidates. For the sake of equality, we will not be able to allow appeals against any of the screening stages.

Is it possible to attend a college without receiving a scholarship?

It is not possible to go to a college without going through the selection process of a National Committee. There are some cases where you can study in college on your own, but in any case you have to go through the entire selection process of the Committee in order to get such an option.
